Andijan is one of the largest centres of Fergana Valley. Since ancient times there were prospering different types of national arts including pottery. Nowadays one of original hereditary craftsmen is Abduvahobov Mirzabakhrom-aka who carefully keeps and continues the craft of the dynasty in the fourteenth generation. His favourite forms are big festive pilaw (traditional Uzbek dish, also pilaf, plov, palow) dishes, deep bowls and jugs for water. Mirzabakhrom-aka works in Andijan traditional style, i.e. picturesque decor in brown and yellow and green range, cross-like patters using and putting the paintings to the full surface of the item.
