Production Merchandiser

Being one of Australia's largest specialty fashion retailers our Design and Production area is fast paced and innovative and always coming up with new ideas. We are currently looking for a merchandiser to join the team and help contribute to our success. Working closely with a Product Developer on one of our key categories, the role will have responsibility for managing production timelines, negotiations, deliveries, product consistency and appearance whilst maintaining and cultivating supplier relationships. The role will also cover the following: • Work with category product developer to develop, cost and source product • Track and manage critical path to ensure timelines are met and manage capacity and workflow • effectively communicate order requirements to suppliers so they have a clear understanding of category expectations around product quality, appearance and specifications. • Sample management and compliance checking for quality • Identify potential production, quality and costing issues and make appropriate recommendations whilst maintaining design and fit intent • Regular communication with other category and technical team members • Seasonal supplier review and feedback This is great opportunity to join one of the most innovative and fast moving fashion businesses in Australia. You will need to be an experienced apparel merchandiser with the following experience and skills: • At least 3-5 years Merchandising experience dealing with overseas suppliers (mainly China) • The ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines • Strong analytical skills and an ability to calculate margins, costs etc • Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise across a number of teams • The ability to multi task and meet tight deadlines • Excellent organisational skills • Proactive team player This is a great opportunity to join a market leading specialty fashion retail business and put your great merchandising skills to great use.
